One of my favorite things to do is watch tv- I like to come home and unwind after a long day by getting comfortable and putting on a show. Instead of doing a monthly shows update, I want to do a quarterly update. If my show isn't running when I do the update, then I won't feature it (Game of Thrones, for example) OR, if I'm not currently watching it actively, I won't feature it (I'm way behind on The Walking Dead, so even though it just came back, I can't talk about it yet). If I'm binge watching a show but it's not actively on, I'll still put it on here.
There may be spoilers, so please read at your own risk!
Here are my thoughts on most of my current shows in ABC order:
*Shows Chris and I watch together
The Bachelor: I really love Rachel and Raven. I used to like Vanessa, but the more I see her, the more I don't like her for Nick... too full of complaints, too rooted to her life (I don't think she would be willing to even consider moving for Nick), etc. I just don't think it would work out between them... But since we know that Rachel is the new Bachelorette (I hate that the announcement came way too early!!), it's between Raven and Vanessa, and you guys know who I want to be picked, hands down.
Big Little Lies: It's not 9 pm yet as I'm writing this, so the 3rd episode hasn't come out yet and I'm impatiently waiting. This is SUCH a good show! I haven't read the book, but it's on my to read list on Goodreads. It's very intriguing, I love the three main actresses, the music choices, the setting, everything. This is a series I will eagerly await all week for. I got the free month trial of HBO Now to watch this!
Blindspot*: We're fully caught up right now, episode 15, season 2. I hate that there aren't any relationships to focus on right now- can Jane and Kurt get back together? Can someone PLEASE be perfect for Patterson!? I just want everyone to be happy.
Criminal Minds*: We just finished episode 4 of the new season (12), and I'm liking the new addition so far, and I love that Prentiss is back! I wish that Reid would cut his hair again, but he still looks fabulous as always- I love his character. I wish I could binge watch this without waiting for Chris because I want to get through the rest of the episodes ASAP.
Grey's Anatomy: (episode 14, season 13)
How to Get Away with Murder: Wow, I don't think I expected Wes to die... he was so integral to the cast! I'm finished watching, episode 15, season 3, and I think we have to wait until after this break to watch the rest. Finally the pieces have started to come together about his death, but I want to know more! Some of the characters are super annoying this season, like Laurel, who I used to like. Now I love Asher and Michaela- they're the glue.
Hunted*: We're still on episode 4, season 1 of this show, and I am amazed at all the resources that law enforcement has to be able to track someone down. This gives me hope in case something bad ever happens, but at the same time, it's also a little frightening how they can infringe on our privacy.
Law & Order- SVU: I miss Stabler!!! I'm caught up (episode 12, season 18), but his absence still hurts ;) The last few crimes have really hit home, and I like that most of the episodes tie into what is currently going on in the real world. Not pleased that Ed and Olivia broke up though- really?
National Treasure: I have about one more episode left to finish this mini-series (it's only 4 episodes), and honestly, it's not my favorite. I'll probably finish watching it because I want to know how it ends, but it's a little too odd for me. It's based in reality, but just too edgy and raw?, I guess.
Rizzoli & Isles: I'm just about to start the 5th season- I finished the 4th season finale earlier today. I love that it's a cop procedural and I like the general lightness of the show between the characters, but it's not my favorite show ever. I still enjoy watching it when my other shows aren't on, but I can definitely go without it for a few days. I hope that Maura and Jane's brother get together- they kissed in the finale!
Scandal: Before this season, I kind of felt like this show took some dips... but I love the new direction it's going with Cyrus and Mellie and I love watching the new episodes! I struggle between feeling bad for Cyrus and disliking him- but he's always got something up his sleeve. I'm caught up (episode 4, season 6)
Shark Tank: I love watching this show! Some of the inventions are really neat, and I'm liking the ones that repurpose materials that would otherwise be thrown away. It's so interesting to hear about the different decisions the entrepreneurs made and it inspires me to work hard. So many of these people had to overcome a lot, or they had to juggle so much to make their dreams come true.
Teen Mom 2: I love watching Teen Mom 2 and Teen Mom OG- I started watching this show from the beginning, even watching 16 and Pregnant (which I would totally watch again if it came back!). Right now I'm caught up- episode 22, season 7. I like watching how people live their lives- usually it's completely different than mine so it's neat to see what theirs is like and how they've grown up. These moms are basically the same age as I am. I think Chelsea is my favorite- she is so great with Aubree and really seems to have everything together.
This Is Us: What an amazing show! I'm fully caught up with this (episode 16, season 1). I LOVE all the actors in it and was SO excited to see Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia back on my screen! Seeing Randall pass away was heart-wrenching. I am NOT ready to see Jack go, but I want to find out how he ends up dying. The fight scene between he and Rebecca was so hard to watch.
Victoria: I'm on episode 8 of season 1, so I'm almost fully caught up. This is so in line with some of my other period drama shows (The Crown, Downton Abbey), and it's fascinating to see how people lived so long ago. Obviously I realize that liberties were taken for entertainment purposes, but many facts were kept intact. I can't wait to see how Victoria interacts with her kids and how the dynamics change between Albert and her. (P.S. watching those 'courting' scenes between the two of them were my FAVORITE, though I was sad that she couldn't be with Melbourne)
That's it! I think I covered all the shows I'm actively watching that are also actively on air.
Please drop a comment so we can discuss these shows! I always love discussing them with other people! Is there a show you LOVE and would like to recommend it to me? I'm always looking for new shows to watch.
