This is the first week I've blurred any images! I understand that I have a blog and I'm putting myself out there, but some things I'd like to keep a little more private (: This was the weekend that I went to Clearwater with Chris for his Chemical Engineering conference. While he was presenting his poster, I was lounging by the beach/hotel pool reading Gone Girl for 3 hours -- so glorious. I even took that Friday off of work. I needed some time away! (He wasn't presenting in front of an audience, just to the higher-ups that were touring the student's posters, so I couldn't really stick with him for that. Just letting you guys know I didn't ditch him for some rays!) (;
Chris ended up winning an award for his poster -- I'm so proud! We saw TFIOS on Saturday, IT WAS SO GOOD. I included some more of these quote embellishments in the vertical panel to the right, along with a lightening bolt I cut out from a PL card and an old yellow souvenir from my younger days.
Luckily I was able to find some shade for a little while before I had to move again to seek more refuge. Since I wasn't going in the water, I didn't want to put on sunscreen, so I had to make sure I wasn't in direct sunlight, at least. (Plus, it was super hot anyway!)
I met up with Jennifer for some coffee (more to come in the week 6 layout) and we went to Staples to buy some things for her office. I got some alphabet stickers off the clearance area for $1, and I wanted to use them in my layout!
Friday night after the conference, we stopped at a friend's house to play some games (once in a while he'll do a Friday night game night), and the next day, Chris and I ate some sushi before the movies. Sunday was reserved for the gun show!
I love the landscaping around my apartment, and I'm sure I'll miss that when I move. Other than that, I won't miss the NOISY, RAPPING neighbors or the perpetual mess in the kitchen and laundry room. Overall, now that some of my roommates have left, I like who I'm living with. I'm ready to move in with Chris, though!
Chris and I played pool together for the first time and I had an absolute blast. I didn't win any of the 12 games that we played (seriously), but it was still such a good time.
I included a few PL Seafoam Core Kit cards and all pictures are ordered from PostalPix. The photo pockets on the left are from We R Memory Keepers, and the photo pockets on the right are from PL Design D.
