This book is so phenomenal that it deserves a whole post in dedication.
I've seen people around the internet describe how brilliant it is, but its not until I devoured the novel that I realized just how powerful it is. It's definitely one of my all-time favorites and a tear-jerker for sure. I powered through it in about 8 hours total. I didn't want to leave the house for work & class because it meant having to put it down.
"When I finished this novel, I didn't want to review it: I wanted to re-read it... Moyes's story provokes tears that are redemptive, the opposite of gratuitous. Some situations, she forces the reader to recognize, are really worth crying over..."
-Liesl Schillinger, The New York Times Book Review
Although it's a love story, it's an unconventional one with relatable characters and a thought-provoking plot. If you read it (or have read it), please tell me what you thought! Have you read any of Moyes' other books? I picked up a few last night on a B&N run, though I have yet to start them.
I was inspired to have a discussion on my blog about the book based on the discussion questions in the back of the text. I wanted to include it in this post... but now that I'm thinking about it, I'd rather write another one with a clear spoiler alert so I don't ruin anything for new readers!
Look for that post to come soon (: Happy hump day!
