This month has really flown by! I always love September, it's my birth month and I just think it's generally a beautiful time of the year. (although I love December too)
My birthday week was chaotic- I had a lot of assignments to worry about, including a "presentation," which always makes me insanely nervous- plus it was on my birthday! I have another presentation this week as well. I had a 4+ page paper due yesterday which ended up being a train wreck. I definitely didn't plan enough for it, and the execution was messy- especially with the annotated bibliography- I HATE those. So I was stressed all weekend, and even after I was done (at 9:30 PM...), I didn't feel any better because I didn't do my absolute best work.
On top of that, I didn't get any work done for my second job. I'll be missing work on Friday. I have a ton of huge assignments due soon. I'm neglecting the housework. I just feel like such a mess. One of my teachers asked how my cohort was doing and I'm glad that we are all feeling the same way- stressed and in the dark. (the program didn't have an orientation and a lot of our assignments are very unclear) Our teacher said that there is only so much we can do. We just have to try and get the most out of what we're learning and come to peace with the fact that nothing will be perfect- something will have to give- mostly a little of everything. (our schoolwork, housework, friendships & relationships- since we can't be 100% for them all the time)
I just need to feel like I have a plan for the minute free time that I do have. I probably need to plan out all the time I have and maybe dedicate a FULL 12 hours or more just concentrating on knocking projects and homework out of the way.
Coincidentally, I just read Ember & March's newsletter (which came into my inbox just as I was typing this!) and she was talking about seeing the rainbows instead of focusing on the rain clouds, and gave an anecdote about a total stranger who ended up being a rainbow with their kindness. Guys, please sign up for her newsletter, it's amazing. In it, she also linked to this post, about managing being busy! I wish I could give her a hug! I need to calm down a bit, make a plan, and then appreciate the rainbows in my life- for real. Chris has been SO great this week/weekend. (he's always great, but more so lately) And Brigit, my new friend, has been absolutely wonderful as well.
Hopefully you guys could take something away from today's post! Let me know how everything has been for the past few weeks. Stressful? Amazing? I'd love to hear from you guys. Also, don't forget to enter my birthday giveaway! It ends Friday.
P.S. I only got one thing done from my weekend goals (completing the paper). Yikes.
