I FINALLY finished Dexter the other night- I was on the fifth season for the longest time. I'm so sad it's over! How do you guys feel about the ending? I read an interview that the writers participated in (read it here!) and it helped me cope with the finale a little more.
So now that that's over ): , I've been trying to hunt down another great series to binge watch via Netflix (or Hulu Plus). Do you have any suggestions? Here are some series that I have tried over the past few days that haven't worked out for me:
Parenthood: almost 2 episodes in and I just couldn't get into it
The Office: almost finished 1 episode- not my type of show at all
The Fall: Netflix original- House of Cards & Orange is the New Black are fantastic and this fell short for me (I may give it another try though because I think it was just starting to get interesting as I was progressing)
Brothers & Sisters: I haven't completely finished episode 1 yet, but I'm veering away
What are some recommendations for good television shows? I tend to stick to dramas (LOVE Grey's Anatomy & Downton Abbey) and witty series (The Blacklist & Almost Human). I need another blog post to talk about all the shows I love... I could probably write novels.
In other screen-related news, I AM SO EXCITED FOR THE FAULT IN OUR STARS TO COME OUT IN THEATERS. (June 6th for those of you who are not counting down!) I read the book last summer and it was fantastic.
One more big-screen/book-turned-movie note: I started reading Divergent before the movie came out, and I actually saw the movie when I was about 3/4 done with the book. Interestingly, I really enjoyed reading most of the book but not all of it before seeing the movie. Why? Because I was hopping around in my seat and playfully hitting my boyfriend when I knew a good scene was about to come on, but, the ending was a cool surprise for me, so I got the best of both worlds. I haven't read reviews from others who read the book and saw the movie, but I was very pleased with how well the movie followed the book. PLEASE go see it if you haven't, and also read the book! I enjoyed both, but I welcome diverse opinions too- let me know what you thought. (:
